What are the requirements to becoming a driving instructor?
- You must be aged 21 or over
- Have held a driving licence for at least three years
- Complete and pass an enhanced criminal record and motoring conviction check
- Have a passion to teach
- Have excellent communication skills
- Enjoy driving
Can I train around my current job or commitments?
Yes, we can arrange your training around your work or family commitments.
How long does it take to train?
This really depends on the amount of time you can commit to your training. As a guide, you can expect to complete your course within six to nine months, however this can vary depending on the time you have to commit, your DBS approval and the availability of DVSA test dates.

Do I have to join your driving school when I am qualified?
No, we would love to welcome you to our team, but we are happy to provide instructor training for those wishing to start their own business. If you do decide to join our team, we provide full back office support, new students and the flexibility to choose when you work as well as ongoing support and training.
How many hours do I have to work as a driving instructor?
Being a driving instructor is extremely flexible to your lifestyle, you can work the hours you choose, so you can if you wish work part time to fit around your other commitments.
